L&#8217;alginato viene estratto principalmente dalle pareti cellulari delle alghe brune appartenenti alla classe delle Phaeophyceae, anche se pu\u00f2 essere biosintetizzato da alcune specie batteriche come   <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Azotobacter<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> e <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Pseudomonas<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. Dal punto di vista strutturale, l\u2019alginato \u00e8 un copolimero lineare composto da acido \u03b2-D-mannuronico (unit\u00e0 M) e acido \u03b1-L-guluronico (unit\u00e0 G), collegati tramite legami glicosidici 1\u21924. Questi monomeri sono disposti in blocchi omopolimerici M, blocchi G e blocchi MG alternati, con una distribuzione relativa dei blocchi che dipende dalla fonte biologica e dal processo di estrazione. <\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">La produzione industriale di alginato prevede in genere l\u2019estrazione alcalina dalla biomassa di alghe essiccate, seguita dalla purificazione e dalla conversione in alginato di sodio idrosolubile. Quando vengono disciolte in ambienti acquosi ed esposte a cationi multivalenti, le catene di alginato si assemblano rapidamente in idrogel reticolati fisicamente. La gelificazione avviene attraverso il legame cooperativo di questi ioni alle regioni ricche di acido guluronico, dando origine a un\u2019architettura della zona di giunzione spesso descritta come una struttura a \u201cscatola per uova\u201d. <\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-e821974 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"e821974\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tra le caratteristiche principali che influenzano la formazione dell&#8217;idrogel ci sono:<\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Meccanismi di reticolazione<\/strong><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Reticolazione ionica con cationi bivalenti o trivalenti (ad es. Consentono l\u2019incapsulamento tridimensionale delle cellule e trovano ampia applicazione nella rigenerazione di cartilagine, ossa, pelle e tessuti molli. Si sono versati 3 mL di alginato nel portacampioni macro ElastoSens\u2122 Bio e si sono aggiunti delicatamente 3 mL di soluzione di CaCl\u2082 sopra l\u2019alginato per avviare la reticolazione ionica. La soluzione di CaCl\u2082 \u00e8 stata poi rimossa e le propriet\u00e0 viscoelastiche sono state misurate utilizzando l\u2019ElastoSens\u2122 Bio a 25 \u00b0C per 5 minuti (intervallo di campionamento: 10 s) dopo 100 minuti. I dati sono riportati come media \u00b1 deviazione standard. Anche il fattore di smorzamento (tan \u03b4) era significativamente pi\u00f9 alto nella condizione a 50 mM rispetto a quella a 10 mM (0,195 \u00b1 0,085 contro 0,161 \u00b1 0,013, ****p &lt; 0,0001), il che indica un cambiamento nell\u2019equilibrio viscoelastico tra i contributi elastici e quelli viscosi. Il marcato aumento di G\u2032 all\u2019aumentare della concentrazione di CaCl\u2082 riflette una maggiore densit\u00e0 di reticolazione, in linea con una maggiore formazione di ponti ionici tra le catene di alginato. Sebbene in entrambe le condizioni si siano formate reti prevalentemente elastiche (tan \u03b4 &lt; 0,5), il valore pi\u00f9 elevato di tan \u03b4 osservato a 50 mM di CaCl\u2082 suggerisce un modesto aumento della dissipazione viscosa.
